 There are various types of industries; according to field industries are categorized:

Mechanical industry: In this type of Industry, a machine and machine components are to be manufactured with the help of man, material, machine and methods. Mechanical engineers are majorly work on execute the all technical projects. Mechanical is a basic branch of engineering. e.g. casting industries, metal forming industries etc. 

Automobile industry: In this type of industry, all vehicles from bike to heavy vehicles are to be manufactured. In some small industries components of automobile are to be manufactured. Automobile as well as mechanical engineers play important role in performing technical tasks.  e.g. components of vehicle and vehicle manufacturing industry.

Chemical industry: All chemical related products and chemicals are to be manufactured. Chemical engineers are performing various manufacturing and related tasks. e.g. any chemical manufacturing industry.

Civil construction industry: In this type of Industry, design and construction of the road, bridges buildings are to be done. Civil engineers are required to execute such a projects. e.g. any construction      industry. 

Pharmaceutical industry: In this type of industries all drugs for medical purposes are to be manufactured. 

Food industries: In this all food products are to be made using various processes. e.g. industries making packaged food.

Transportation industry: Gives service of transportation for example receiving the goods and sending it to destination. This type of Industry comes under service industry.


Textile and garment industry: Fabric is manufactured from raw material and then garment is prepared.
